How can I authenticate if this is a real image of Grace Marks circa 1850?

Grace Marks (the subject of Margaret Atwood's book Alias Grace) was convicted of murder in the 1840s and this image of her appeared on Wikipedia recently: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Grace_Mark.png

The only description is "circa 1850" and it has a link to a history blog (the blogger said she found it online but doesn't know it's origin). The murder and trial were highly publicized, but I don't know what photograph technology they had at the time or if she would be considered important enough for a photo. I tried reverse-image searching and searching Library & Archives Canada's and the Kingston Penitentiary's websites and found nothing, but I'm not very well versed in historical research. I'm curious if this is a legitimate image of her.

Searching for the image on Google brings up this Flickr where it’s listed as ‘Tintype of Lovely Girl with Braids, circa 1872’ and looks to have been uploaded in 2010: https://www.flickr.com/photos/60861613@N00/5112716658

One of the comments refers to having seen it on eBay so I’m guessing it’s a random photo of someone whose name we will never know, which was labeled as being Grace Marks because somebody saw it online and decided it suited their personal idea of Grace.
