Hollywood loves a good pre-battle speech. But are there any examples of documented pre-battle speeches anywhere throughout history?

The short answer is apparently so. There’s dozens to hundreds of recorded battle speeches. There’s a question of how much of it is trope and how much of these speeches are exaggerated or embellished, and whether any number of specific speeches in particular were given as reported. But the basic fact that pre-battle speeches existed seems undeniable.
