The books they burned were usually in some way related to their political ideology. The most commonly burned books were books by minorities, especially Jews, along with any books promoting ideas that contradicted the Nazi party’s ideas. These included books on capitalism, socialism, communism, racial equality, and whatever else they saw as opposed to their doctrine.
