Just read a book on this subject. Italy and France could have easily prevented the retaking of the Rhineland, and after the push of the German Army into Prague after the appeasement deals for the German speaking citizens of Czechoslovakian territory from the British and French, to be given back to the Nazi regime. But because of the horrors of the "Great War" no one was ready for World War Part Two. And some argue that if the British would have not signed a deal with Poland, the Dictator Colonel Beck of Poland probably would have made a pact with Hitler to carve up more territory in the East after the inevitable Nazi thrust into Soviet Russia.
