I've got small kids and the subject of pirates comes up more often then you'd imagine.
My 5 year old wants to know if walking the plank was a real punishment.
As a follow up I'd also like to know, if it was a real punishment, was there ever a case of someone making it to shore and surviving the plank?
I dont think plank walk was a real thing The only punishment they had was sitting on the ship if you want to know more in a cartoonish way i recommend you channel sam o’nella He created an episode called: why it sucked to be a pirate. He explains how awful it was on these ships
