Today:
Welcome to this week's instalment of /r/AskHistorians' Sunday Digest (formerly the Day of Reflection). Nobody can read all the questions and answers that are posted here, so in this thread we invite you to share anything you'd like to highlight from the last week - an interesting discussion, an informative answer, an insightful question that was overlooked, or anything else.
Another week has flown past and that means its once again time for Gankom’s favorite Sunday morning activity. We’ve had some real gold this week. Lots of incredibly fantastic and fascinating posts. Don’t forget to check out the usual weekly fare as well, and there’s some various trials and rule related stuff you should see as well.
For starters, you should absolutely check out Testing, Testing, 123! We'll be Trying Out an Automatic Rules Reminder in Some Threads for a Few Weeks. and see some changes currently under testing. Let us know your thoughts in this thread!
I want to mention this post again as well. Remember the recent giant meta thread about answered flairs? Well it’s not a flair but /u/almost_useless has been working on something that might provide some quality help. It’s still in the early stages but you should absolutely check it out. You can try it out and see if it does a good job of telling you how many actual comments are in the thread, and hopefully removes the removed ones!
It’s time to vote! Head on over to the Best of May voting thread!
There was a really good Thursday Reading and Recommendations thread From books about beer and ale, to medieval time, to audiobooks and more!
Check out the Friday Free For All For a number of different topics and discussion. Congrats in particular to /u/ScipioAsina!
It’s the Saturday Showcase! With two, yes TWO, fantastic showstopping answers.
Well that’s it for me this week. I hope you folks have a great day, and tune in next week for another great digest. As a legend once said; To the rest of you, thanks for watching. On behalf of myself and the whole gang up here at Possum Lodge AskHistorians... keep your stick on the ice.
This answer on archaeology and site destruction was very interesting. link it. I found the discussion between u/Aithiopika, u/GrayHaven and u/han_dies_01, interesting. Hmm, maybe I should find another word to use than interesting…
