He specifically mentions them while covering the Halbe Pocket, late April 1945.
From what I understand of the role of women in the Third Reich, they were not allowed to fight and only in later stages were recruited as Funkhelferinnen and Flakhelferinnen. The SS strikes me as the last place to make an exception for this but then again everything is possible in April '45.
