I find that books that describe history can be rather boring. I get that history isn't exactly a movie or novel. I just can't seem to read thru the books. Are there any books you recommend that I can read that talks about history from say the 20's til today?
One of the most readable histories I've read is Paris 1919 by Margaret McMillan. She makes a great case for the failure of the treaty talks following WWI but writes in a less technical style. I also enjoyed the books by Richard Evans about the Third Reich. They are full of information and long, but so intriguing.
