I’m thinking like the average Joe German who got swept up and ended up supporting the nazis. What they were thinking, what motivated them, etc
We naturally focus on the extraordinary stories of the victims of that period like Anne Frank and concentration camp survivors, and the extraordinary evil of concentration camp guards or high ranking nazis, I’m just after a normal person who kindof gets swept up in all.
Thanks
It is older, but you can read The Nazi Seizure of Power: The Experience of a Single German Town, 1930-1935 by William Sheridan Allen. Not about a single person, but the experience of a town. Still might get at what you are interested in.
