Do you mean first names? If so most certainly. Examples in England show a love for the monarchy back in those days. People were naming their kids James, Edward, Elizabeth and Victoria. So yes, names were very much a shared thing. Surnames have a different origin however. Some are obvious such as Potter, Townsend and Gardener.
