In general 3 things come up: Wolfenstein style, 1 man taking out an entire army, Hoi4 style large divisions just bashing their heads against one another, or soldiers storming the beaches of France & being mowed down by gunfire.
First off, abandon any thoughts you have toward anything you have ever seen in a video game. It doesn't look like that. Ever. In a game you never have to worry about getting killed because you respawn. You also never get tired and can quickly aim and fire. Turns out, unlike games and movies, it takes a lot of bullets to actually take down and kill a person. People have survived incredible amounts of damage and lived. (See this post from yesterday:https://i.redd.it/f7ma4jf8kja31.jpg) Actual combat involves lots of attempts to maneuver as well as boat loads of ammunition fired at objects, buildings, sounds, or the air. It rarely looks like: There's an enemy charging at me, I'll raise my rifle, aim down my sights and shoot him. In a general sense, there is no one man army, but small squads and platoons moving together to attack a specific position or defend one. Sometimes the scale is larger, but mostly the fighting would be done via small unit tactics. Each army also organized itself differently, particularly to their weapon platforms. The Americans had the BAR, which other armies didn't really have an equivalent for in their squads. Soviets were sometimes exclusively armed with submachineguns, while Americans had M1 rifles, the Germans, Japanese, and British are utilizing bolt actions throughout the war as the primary infantry rifle. Point is, it all looks different.
Second, virtually every terrain you can imagine was fought over in WWII. Jungles, beaches (in Europe, Africa, and the Pacific), desert sands, frozen mountains, forests, villages and cities. So there is no one way to view it. It looks and sounds different everywhere. A firefight for a single building in Stalingrad will look drastically different than Marines slogging through a swampy jungle in the Solomons.
Having said that, if you wish to know best what it looked like, go to the footage. Youtube is your best friend, as well as r/combatfootage here. Search individual battles or just WWII. There are literally thousands of hours of footage to view, but I will also say, its probably not going to be exciting if you expect it to look like gaming. Most footage you will not see the enemy at all. Because oftentimes that's how it was, you are firing at the window, or the trees, or the place you think a guy might be. Much of the footage as well will be post battle. These can be extremely graphic, so fair warning if you aren't ready to see that stuff.
Lastly, even how you picture WWI in France isn't static. It didn't all look like trenches, and the tactics changed over the course of 4 years, just as it would in WWII. So having an image in mind of what it looks like might only be partially true for a specific area at a specific time, but not everywhere.
