Most flags from the region have red, white, black and green in some combination. African and Asian flags are fairly diverse, why do Arab flags share the same colours even though they were degsined in different years?
The Pan-Arab colors are red, black, white and green having their origins in the banner of the Arab Revolt. It is believed that each of the four Pan-Arab colors represents an Arab Dynasty, black was the color of the Prophet Muhammad, while white was chosen by the Umayyad Caliph as an evocative symbol of the Battle of Badr, green of the Fatimid Caliphate as symbol of his support for Ali, while red was the color of the carijitas flag.
