From my understanding there were 4 main infantry weapons a squad would use in WWII; M1 Garand, Thompson submachine gun, m1 carbine, and BAR.
Nowadays in the army you have give or take 10 soldiers in a squad. 2 M249s, 2 M4s with M203 on it and the rest are M4.
How were squads composed in WW2 weapons wise? How many of each weapon? What determined which weapon you had? Were the same squad tactics and make up used back then as today?
