I've just read in a Norwegian newspaper that the Chinese government have issued a statement through the Global Times (government controlled newspaper) that the situation in Hong Kong will not be a repetition of the incident on June 4, 1989. (Tiananmen square massacre)
Have there been any other official statements acknowledging the events of the Tiananmen square massacre? If so what's the Chinese governments story of what happened?
I've found some stories of individual politicians defending the massacre. But nothing official from the Chinese government. Also, according to Amnesty the Chinese government has never acknowledged the true events surrounding the Tiananmen massacre. But nothing about what the Chinese government says happened.

Perhaps there is an English translation of this document. I certainly expected that to be the case, given the importance of this document. But I cannot find one online.
