I'm having classes on the history of the américas this semester and one of the topics of discussion was the Haitian Independence. In some of my readings I've encountered the term of "racial cleansing" being used to describe the policies of L'Ouverture and specially Dessalines and I'd like to know some other opinions on the matter.
