I have a fairly good grasp of Jewish Greek history but I don't understand the question. What does the exchange of populations in 1923 has to do with Jews ? Yes, there was an up tick in nationalism but this was more evident in areas recently liberated where refugees settled like (greek) Macedonia and (western) Thrace. In Crete this was not the case and things changed little.

Please elaborate because it does not really make sense as a question.
