So I've been researching the pyramids and a lot of the scientists say that they may have been built by extraterrestrials, are older than they seem, and there's no poof they were used for burial sites. Where's the proof for or against it? I've seen a lot of proof supporting these theories, but not a lot of rational sense proof, unless I'm wrong and they're right? If so, what were the pyramids theorized to be used for and how were they built? And what evidence supports these theories? Also, why then were they built?
So, if you can't describe exactly how the Egyptians built their pyramids, down to the last detail, then aliens did it?
Bertram Russell once gave an illustration of Occam's Razor . One day you are walking by a pencil sharpener, and there is a pile of new, unsharpened pencils next to it. The next day, you walk by it again, and there is a pile of pencils next to it that are sharpened, and there are shavings in the pencil sharpener. You could say that someone sharpened the pencils. Or, you could say there are creatures called Ploglies, who came out during the night, gnawed the ends of the pencils, and spit the bits into the sharpener. If you want to say the pencils were sharpened by someone, do you have to document the movements of everyone in the city for the past 24 hours? Have an expert examine the sharpener to see if it is sharp enough to actually sharpen pencils? Have that expert's credentials verified? No: the one who comes up with the extremely unlikely idea, of Ploglies, should be in the position of defending it.
So far, all the evidence we have is that the Egyptians built their pyramids: they had a very impressive civilization, lasting thousands of years, that liked to build things. Aliens? Where did they come from? Given the incredible problem of overcoming the light-speed limits on interstellar travel, they must have had amazing technology- why isn't there more of it here than some piles of rocks? Why did they come all this way to build their piles? How do we know what they wanted, do we have any of their writings? Given they would have had immense power over all the humans, humans would have had to communicate with them, so why aren't there any words in any language, ancient or modern, that are incontrovertibly of alien origin? Why couldn't they build their piles of rocks on the moon, where there would be less gravity, and they wouldn't have to deal with stupid, violent humans? If they could travel all the way to earth , why haven't we found more of their stuff on other planets, asteroids, moons, as well? These questions can go on, and on, and on.....
