The Lighthouse is a new film by Robert Eggers about two lighthouse keepers on an island in 1890s New England and is supposedly incredibly accurate in everything from the way the two main actors speak to the clothes they wear and the food they eat.
Apparently in preparation for The Lighthouse Robert Eggers read a wide array of books and journals about this place and time. He has mentioned briefly in interviews that he’s been reading Sarah Orne Jewett but hasn’t really touched more upon that.
So in general my question is: What other books would Robert Eggers have had to have read for his research for the film?
