Patina is a well-known phenomenon, and the statue of liberty is perhaps the most famous example. However, there are older greek statues like this one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victorious_Youth that show much less patina. Sure, there's some on the bottom, but for a statue that has been at the bottom of the sea for >2000 years, I would think there would be more. What's going on?
