History Majors offer a fairly wide range of possibilities. First off they can be used to get a job that just requires a general degree, you would be amazed how many jobs this includes, and as a first degree for a field that requires more specialized qualifications after your BA such as Law.
As for jobs that specifically relate to History degrees the most obvious is teaching, at any level, and even staying in academia (though you should be warned this is an exceptionally hard career path to go down at the moment). Slightly less obviously is government work, History provides the key skills for a good bureaucrat or civil servant (ability to take in, summarize and collate large amounts of information). If you are in the US and are interested in this field I'd recommend https://www.usajobs.gov/.
If you are particularly worried about your employability out of university remember you don't have to study straight history, if your in the US you could minor in something and in the UK you could go for a joint honors degree. There are a whole bunch of subjects to pick from if you go this route but some of the common ones are international relations, languages, and area studies.
Of course this all would vary based on what country you live in and I can only really provide advice on the UK and US. If you had any more specific/follow on questions please let me know and I'll answer them as best I can.
