Grandfather's Navy Service record help.

I pulled my grandfather's Navy record from World War 2, and could use some help interpreting. Some of it is easy enough, but any help translating the following acronyms:

From Service (Vessels and Stations Served on):

  • USNH Pearl Harbor, T.H.- What is "T.H."?
  • SM Sch New London, Conn.- Is this a ship based out New London? Base?
  • NAAS Corvallis, OR- What is "NAAS"?
  • NAS Whidbey Island, Washington- What is "NAS"?
  • PSC USNB Bremerton, Washinton- What is "PSC USNB"?

From Ratings Held:

  • AS
  • S2c
  • HA2c

T.H. is for the Territory of Hawaii. It wasn't state until 1959. NH is for the Naval Hospital.

SM New London was the Submarine base at New London, CT

NAAS Corvallis was the Naval Auxiliary Air Station

NAS is a full Naval Air Station

PCS USNB. Provisional Security Company. ( I think, my best guess) US Naval Barracks. Maybe assigned Shore Patrol duties ?

AS Seaman Apprentice. (Basic Training)

S2C. Seaman 2nd Class ( Out of basic, but have not earned a rating)

HA2C and Ha1C. Hospital Apprentice (I believe a medical orderly)
