Are there any good books (or even articles, whatever) on the seasons in medieval Europe? I guess that would end up being a lot about agriculture, but I'm especially interested in what daily life would be like during the winter.

Hi hi! I'm looking for any reading recs (articles, books) about the Duke of Windsor / Edward VIII and his time as king, the abdication, and/or the aftermath and his later years.
I can tackle more academic, rigorous texts but would prefer to start with something more readable and accessible.
Would anyone know of any writings on or by Mujahideen fighters during the Soviet-Afghan War? How they viewed their role, why they fought, how they felt about the Soviets, about religion vs secularism, etc?
I'm looking for recommendations for books on the Akkadian Empire. I checked the book list but on the Ancient Near East section there's no Akkadian subsection, just Sumer, Babylonia, Assyria and Hittite sections. Seems to be a bit of an oversight! Thank you.
