Armed Native Americans to fight slavery in Spanish Colonies??

May I inquire where you got this information from, because I have never encountered this when studying the history of the Latin American Colonies.

I am aware of the opposite sort of happening: that is the Spanish empire giving up trying to recapture runaway slaves in certain regions (be it due to the difficult geography or due to heavy losses in combat) and reaching an agreement for those runaway communities to serve as a barrier against hostile Indigenous tribes... but I have never heard Native American communities being systematically armed to fight slavery, specially not by the Catholic church.
