An immigrant looking to learn the history of America from its infancy to present. Please recommend in chronological order as I have no point of reference.
A survey book that covers the very start to the very present would be the place to start.
I highly recommend Eric Foner’s Give me Liberty! Volumes 1 & 2.
It’s the books A LOT of Intro to American History classes use. I used 4th edition but it seems like the 5th recently was released so 4th editions should be available at a great price.
