While /r/AskHistorians is known for a high removal rate, sometimes it isn't actually our fault! Today reddit experienced some heavy server issues, which delays the display of comments. While they will generally show up in your user page or with a direct link to the comment, they simply won't show up in the thread for anyone. This even includes the mods! We've had several reports of this today, and comparing visible comments to comment counts, there are likely many more.

If you go to a thread you posted in, and while logged in your comment doesn't show up, please consider reposting it. If you can see it in the thread view, it was not affected by this issue (a comment removed by mods will show up for the person who posted it, and only be invisible to you if you log out. Please do not repost removed comments).

Reddit Status reports the incident of beginning around Noon Pacific Time (3:00 PM Eastern, 7:00 PM UTC), and reported as resolved at 4:03 PM Pacific (7:03 PM Eastern, 11:03 PM UTC) although we seem to be still seeing some incidents, so may still be ongoing.

If you posted within that time period, please check to see if you were impacted, as even after resolution, impacted comments will often not appear retroactively (sometimes they do, sometimes they don't).
