I don’t mean why didn’t they have gun powered or steel armor or swords. If you look at the ancient Celts or British, they had chariots and “navies” (not anything close to what we’d think of in the last 200-300 years, but they were seafaring.) I know there were regional differences between tribes so was there a tribe like the Algonquins or someone else who tried to explore?
