This is a picture of my German (supposedly, not yet confirmed) (great?-)grandmothers wedding. Standing beside her are three men, two of them in a uniform, supposedly one or both of them could also be related to me. Can you help me identify of which army and arm they were part of and maybe even what rank they had?
The one on the left wears a Greatcoat and his cap is a Wehrmacht Schirmmütze. I believe so. You can see the laurel wreath below and the Eagle above on his cap. So he possibly was an officer. But to me the two gentlemen seem to be 100 percent of the Wehrmacht.
This is definitely WW2, but I am not sure of the time. You could give maybe a bit more insight if you tell when your (great)grandmother was born. She seems to me to be somewhere in the early twenties.
Definitely Germany, World War II era. The man who I suppose is your (great) grandmother's husband is wearing Luftwaffe uniform, distinguishable by the rank badges on the collar of the greatcoat and the tunic he wears under it. The number of the little bird-like devices on those patches and the trim round them would tell you his precise rank if you could see them, but I think I see a chevron on his left sleeve meaning the rank of Gefreiter (Private First Class/ Lance Corporal).
