I’m having a hard time coming up with enough evidence to support this point (a 2000 word essay), any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve done quite a bit of research but I don’t think these points alone will satisfy the essay, here’s what I have so far:
1765, colonial assemblies passed resolutions denying that British parliament had the right to tax colonies directly
1765, representatives from 9 colonies met in New York to collectively call for repeal of the sugar and stamp act
Colonists begin organizing politically across colonies
American merchants agree to stop importing British goods
Non importation societies are created
A resistance group is formed in 1765 to prevent the collection of stamps by stamp collectors
Daughters of liberty resistance group
