Fisher describes comprehensively four discreet migrations from the British Isles to America: the Puritans to Massachusettes, the Cavaliers to Virginia, the Quakers to the Delaware River Valley, and the so-called Scotch-Irish to the frontier. One thing covered is common building styles for each culture with pictures. There is also some discussion about how the architectural style relates to other aspects of the culture.
