Who were the major philosophers in indigenous civilizations before discovery of the New World, and how different/similar were they to the Greek/Roman/European philosophers we typically know?

On another thread I realized I know absolutely nothing of indigenous philosophy. What questions were of greatest concern to them? How similar/different was their questioning, reasoning, etc. to European philosophers before New World discovery?
