I'm really interested in a history that examines Roman Britain in detail. I'm both interested in a technical understanding (information on population centers, what political and social entities existed and how the Roman invasion and colonization affected them) and a cultural understanding (native identity and lifeways and how they resisted/accepted/merged with Roman ones.)
Seminal works are appreciated, but really strong niche books are also of interest.
David Mattingly's, An Imperial Possession: Britain in the Roman Empire, is pretty good. It does lean a bit more into the anti-Roman perspective than other historians, from what my history professor told me.
