You might wonder why I am answering this so late, but I just finished the book and wanted to see if anyone on reddit had talked about. I am NOT a professional historian, but I have read extensively on history, especially 1900 to 1945, both on my own time and university classes. I can tell you that for most of it Buchanan is an ass, and he is completely wrong on so many points it’s insane how anyone even remotely interested in that time-period could take him seriously. A lot of the time it even seems as if Buchanan has not done any kind of research on Hitler and the intentions of the Nazi party, a part from party propaganda released by Germany during WW2
