I love Greek myths! (my time to shine!) Apollodrus library of Greek myths is good. That's written by a guy who was around about 150BC. Although a lot of the ancient Greek writers put a lot of emphasis on family lineage, so they list of names and their fathers etc. It can sometimes make it a little difficult to read. If you're looking at something a little more up to date and easier to read, Stephen Fry has done a couple of books. They're much easier to read and have his humour running throughout. The Illiad and the Odyssey by Homer are also good. The first is the story of the end of the famous Trojan war and the second one is the story of the great hero Odysseus as he tried to get home following the war. There's probably hundreds of different translations of these by now but you can't really go wrong with the penguin classics translated by E.V. Rieu (I'm currently in the middle of rereading this version of the Illiad). I managed to get my hands on a 2nd hand copy of Robert Graves Greek myths (printed beautifully by the folio society.) You can get it online for about £30 but worth the money if you really want to get into it (but doing a bit of research I've just found a paperback version). Finally there's a great little children's book called Tales of Troy and Greece by Andrew Lang. Although sold as a kids book it's probably more aimed towards teens. I've read it myself a few times and not found it too simplistic. These are just some of the ones I have in my collection that really jump out at me.
