Currently writing a research project on this, last year I explored the possibility of the majority of credit going towards grassroots movements such as Quakers campaigning for abolition, William Cowper's poetry being made accessible to all which included lower classes learning of the strife of slaves which compelled their own protests etc, but this year I wanted to flip it on its head- I am aware ultimately legislation from politicians caused slavery to become illegal but I'm not sure where to start on any other points I can make within the essay. Help would be very much appreciated! I am genuinely interested in this topic but it seems so incredibly broad I don't know where to start.
