Hi I’m looking for some history books recommendations. I recently started to pick up reading as a hobby again and would like to read history based books because im really interested in history:) I’m very into the medieval times but any good read of other times are welcome as well! I’m looking for not too complicated books as I’m not really that good in remembering information and keeping my focus.
Extra info: -English is not my first language -I’m dyslexic -I’m a girl (20y) so books about important female figures would also be fun to read:)
Thank you for reading my post :) (If this kinda post isn’t aloud im sorry and wil delete the post!)
While I'm unable to advice a particular title, you can always give the r/AskHistorians booklist a shot! There is a general category with some titles that also gloss over the medieval period and that are not too bookish or academic. There is also a medieval category, including some overview literature, ^(but this is a bit more dry.)
Alternatively, there are the weekly Thursday Reading & Recommendations posts, the latest being the one of November 21. This is a great thread to ask for specific recommendations.
Finally, if you are comfortable doing so, it might help to mention your native language! We have quite the amount of readers and contributors, flaired or otherwise, and there's a considerable chance someone out there is familiar with relevant literature in your language!
