So this is a question that I figured would be incredibly interesting, and it would either bring with it an interesting or disappointing answer. Were there ever any Black soldiers that fought for the Confederacy? Was it just another form of forced labour by the slaveholder states of the Confederacy or did they do it of their free will? If so, is there any record of who they were and why they might have done this?
Hope to see an insightful answer that isn't "No"! :)
