Ok, so I inherited these two map lithographs from my grandparents; I just got them back early last month from my cousin, who'd been holding them for me.
They're old world maps, with imagery bordering them, depicting Greco-Roman and Biblical events and characters.
I was able to decipher part of the imagery from each one, and asked for further help to decipher more, and I tried contacting the company that made them, Portal Publications LTD for more information.
That said...one of the maps has a Latin phrase on it:
"nova totius terrarum orbis geographica ac hydrographica tabula"
Which translates to: " fresh whole world cura delineata"
Any idea what that means? Cause I'm not sure.
That means "new geographical and hydrographical table of the entire world". The phrase "orbis terrarum" is a typical phrase for the Earth although it means something more literally like the "globe of the lands".
