From what I understand, 6 Black Hand members, including Gavrilo Princip shot and killed Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie, others were arrested too but were just conspirators. Franz Ferdinand was shot 30 times while Sophie was shot 18 times. Sophie was killed in the crossfire and Franz Ferdinand was of course intended to die. Back to my question, if you, for example, search up the question on Google, "Who killed Franz Ferdinand?" you will get "Gavrilo Princip" as a definite answer. I just don't understand why is he the most famous/blamed out of the 6 assassins. If anyone is available to provide an insight to my question, I'll be grateful, thanks! (Correct me in anything if I'm wrong.)
There were six men that were supposed to attempt to assassinate Franz Ferdinand. They were:
However, the first two assassins gave up on their attempts. Nedeljko Čabrinović threw a grenade into Franz Ferdinand's car, but Franz Ferdinand managed to throw it out of the car. The car didn't arrive to positions of Vaso Čubrilović and Trifko Grabež, as Gavrilo Princip managed to shoot Franz Ferdinand at 10:50 AM into carotid artery, while the second bullet (intended for Oskar von Potiorek) ended up in Sophie Chotek's gastric artery, as Gavrilo Princip was pushed by someone from the crowd. After that moment Gavrilo Princip was still aiming at Von Potiorek, but Ante Velić managed to take the pistol from him and give it to a policeman. Sophie died right away, but Franz Ferdinand died 15 minutes after, as nobody managed to unbutton the collar of his uniform and stop the bleeding on time.
