What was life life for the Spaniards that settled in the America’s? Specifically amongst the Southern border with Mexico? What was life like for Tejanos, Californios, and NeoMexicans that are often overlooked in American history? Interesting stories or events as well?

spaniards were not seen well by “mestizos” aka individuals of mixed race like spanish/indigenous, which is what they were called back then, but did not have any problems because they [the spanish] had the upper hand in the americas. however, most spaniards were usually in the americas because they had positions of power. if they were spaniards in other positions, it’s most likely that they were the sons of spaniards that were teachers, etc. - most of them against the spanish government themselves (i.e. jose marti). that i know of about the tejanos and californios.. well, they experienced indoctrination of religion and racism
