Is there any resource where I can find all of Hitler’s speeches in full text? Preferably in English

by Latsowet

Hi so I decided to study up on Hitler as I choose him to be the topic of my Bachelor thesis. I would like to read as much on him preferably directly from him or people close to him already bought and am reading Mein Kampf and ordered his second book and considering ordering the Table Talk book although I read the english translation is not that good. Now onto my question I bought a book of his speeches but most of the book is just the editor/publisher talking about the context and the actual speeches cover only the years 1922-1923 and less than 50% of the book. I found this list https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_speeches_given_by_Adolf_Hitler and am looking for any source which would have all these speeches in full text preferably in English if not German will do. If anyone has any resource or could point me to libraries I would be thankful. Also I noticed some of his speeches not listed there notably the ones featured in Triumph of the Will. Does anyone know why that is the case? I found this source but it doesnt have them all http://hitler.org/speeches/ nothing after 1941 is a bummer. Thank you for your time

I would caution against such an approach, especially for a BA Thesis, as it is far more work than you would reasonably expect in pay off. But, if you are really committed to it, then you want to get ahold of:

Max Domarus & Patrick Romane. The Essential Hitler: Speeches and Commentary. , Jun 2010.

Adolf Hitler & Max Domarus. The Complete Hitler: A Digital Desktop Reference to His Speeches and Proclamations 1932-1945. , Jan 2013.

I used to advise/tutor undergrad students in History 4000 which is our Bachelors "thesis" class.

If you came to me with this question my first question would be what you are planning on researching and writing on? Maybe if you have a interesting take on a certain speech or how US media reported on a singular speech versus something else, but this is a lot of material and honestly something that someone at an undergrad level will struggle with.

I also always advise students, if you don't speak the language, it's not a good research topic. It's okay to use translated sources for support for your research/thesis, but your primary sources and main secondary sources should be in a language you are fluent in.

Speak to your professor, they will almost certainly advise against. Also, did your professor not have you write a prospectus?

But the best source for this would be your university library, ask your university librarian, if they do not have it, they can get a set for you.

The set I used when researching public statements about Islam for one of my Masters classes was an english one that was 4 giant volumes, thousands of pages, it was just called Hitler: Speeches and Proclamations. The librarian was also able to get me a large collection in German on a loan from another library and I had someone fluent in German help me.
