Hi everyone I have recently became extremely interested in the Crusades in general and have been reading a ton but most of the books I have read are very general and are usually considered (from what I can tell) beginner books. I was hoping that someone who knows more about the subject can tell me about some more academic books. Thanks in advance!

I listed some of the recent works on the Northern Crusades in this thread last year, but the problem is the recent flood of literature on the Northern Crusades mainly limited to highly academic (and often very expensive) sort. Intermediate sort between Eric Christiansen's Northern Crusades and much more advanced research literature still has some more room to be written, I suppose.
As for the Crusades to the Holy Land, I'm sure /u/WelfOnTheShelf knows much more than I do. Thus, the following books are only a few, very essential ones.
