Hello,
I am about to write my bachelor thesis. The general scope of my studies will be "The U.S. and Iran in the 19XXs", where the scope can be any decade ranging from the 1950s to the 1970s/early 1980s". I will naturally have to limit the overall scope and specify a lot more, but this is what I am working with right now.
My studies of the Middle East have so far been limited to Arab history in both a narrow (regional) and broader (international) geographical scope, and for this reason am I going into my bachelor thesis without much knowledge of authorities and experts on the topic of Iran (and its relation to the U.S., and vice versa). Could anyone here perhaps help guide me to some solid researchers/experts I can start with and expand from?

While there are many, many books and writers out there on this era in Iranian history, Ervand Abrahamian is probably the preeminent historian of this period. He can be a little dense, but I would start with him!
