Why didn't the European nations attempt to save Constantinople from the Ottomans, while they sent thousands of soldiers to protect Vienna, a smaller and arguably less important city?
They did! Although there were many reasons why they were pretty ineffectual, and why they couldn't/wouldn't send a bigger army. In fact there was a question about this just the other day, so see my answer there for more detail.
