I was watching a video featuring British historian Andrew Roberts, where he claims “By 1914 Wilhelm believed Germany should not only dominate europe, but the entire world and had the Schlieffen plan worked Germany most certainly would have.” For all I’ve studied I’ve never seen anyone claim this was actually Germany’s aim during the war. Is this an accurate representation of Germany’s ambitions or is he being dramatic? By world domination is this simply a reference to growing Germany’s sphere of influence?
