I love learning about the daily life of people in the past. I was wondering if any of you know a channel on Youtube that talks about the daily life of people (especially the 19th and 20th centuries)? I'm mostly looking for stuff about life in Europe but North America is fine too. (I already know Karolina Zebrovska, I love her but she is mainly talking about fashion si I'm willing to learn about plenty of other things).
These aren’t on YouTube, but The Great Courses (The Teaching Company) has a series of lectures/courses that deal with daily life in the ancient and medieval world. The first is The Other Side of History: Daily Life in the Ancient World by Professor Robert Garland. This course deals with anything you can imagine, including worshiping, being a celebrity, entertainment, being rich, poor, a slave, disabled, across a variety of classes and jobs from Egypt to Greece, Rome, and the Middle Ages. Each of the 48 30 minute lectures deals exclusively with a particular subject. The second course deals with the same, but strictly focuses on the Medieval World and is taught by Professor Dorsey Armstrong. These courses are extremely expensive as listed, but are frequently on sale throughout the year. I picked up both during a Black Friday preview sale last November for $30 each. You can also usually find them for free at your library. I don’t know of any on the 19th or 20th centuries though.
