Lithuania is very proud of its Jewish history, yet it's current Jewish population is very small. Why didn't they attempt to reestablish their foothold in Jewish culture after the war?
I'm not sure I understand the question. 95% of Lithuanian Jews were killed in the Holocaust. There simply was no basis left for a firm foothold in Jewish culture.
