Currently studying Soviet history at Oxford. This is a super complicated question because Lenin wrote and spoke a lot and different historians have different opinions. But, if you'd ask me, I'd say no. The hero-worship of Lenin only began after his death, in life he was actually pretty modest and though he was certainly the de facto leader of the government after the revolution, the leadership structure was nothing like the Stalinist dictatorship and was fairly collective. Lenin would have never wanted society to worship one leader in particular.

But, on the flip side, Lenin had no qualms about violence. However, Lenin believed violence could be used as a tool to promote communist ideology. The random violence of the Great Terror, during which "good" Communists were killed in an arbitrary purge to propagate fear and keep Stalin in power seems a quite different goal to me.

A good source is Lenin's Testament, which was suppressed in the Soviet Union until Khrushchev's Secret Speech. In this document published shortly before his death, Lenin warned against Stalin being in a leadership role. Some quotes

• "Comrade Stalin, having become Secretary-General, has unlimited authority concentrated in his hands, and I am not sure whether he will always be capable of using that authority with sufficient caution"
• "Stalin is too coarse and this defect, although quite tolerable in our midst and in dealing among us Communists, becomes intolerable in a Secretary-General. That is why I suggest that the comrades think about a way of removing Stalin from that post and appointing another man in his stead who in all other respects differs from Comrade Stalin in having only one advantage, namely, that of being more tolerant, more loyal, more polite and more considerate to the comrades, less capricious, etc."
