I have recently been to Krakow, and saw first hand the concentration camps and it has absolutely shell shocked me. I am still in total disbelief and its made me feel weird.
I know this is an incredibly touchy subject but I want to understand what the Nazi's were thinking. What their justification was for such evil. It has to be more nuanced (if not still obviously disgusting) then that.
Been trying to looks for Nurenberg Trial footage (there isn't much) but want to go deeper.

Claude Lanzmann’s “Shoah” is an incredibly useful resource, as is Ordinary Men by Christopher Browning. Unfortunately, in my experience perpetrator interviews often leave me with more questions than they answer, people are either not good at, or are unwilling to explain why they commit atrocities. Often perpetrators refused to provide an explanation, and when they do it often attempts to exonerate themselves, making them both frustrating and even maddening to try and work with. It also sounds like you’re emotionally pretty raw right now, understandably so, so I would give yourself the room to tackle the questions your trip brought up slowly and take care of yourself emotionally and physically.
