I'm currently working for a Belgian comics publishing house, and my boss asked me to investigate about a rumor he heard: It says that "the village of Asterix and Obelix", so a little village that was able to resist Roman's assaults for a very long time while all other villages eventually felt, actually existed but was located in Spain instead of France. In addition, according to this rumor, Goscinny and Uderzo would have "copied/taken" the base for their story from another comic/book that talked about the same Spanish village mentioned above. Does anyone have any information about this rumor, or about any "real" inspiration that led the authors to create this comic? Every information will be useful, thank you very much for your time
