Borrowed a copy of Ellehøj's thesis Studier over den ældste norrøne Historieskrivning The paper is wonderfully thick and it's printed with hot metal type! Such a wonderful tactile sensation running your fingers over the pages.. I mean the historiography is good but the physical book is even better!
I'd really like to begin reading about Native American culture. I realize this is broad, as there were many tribes with very different cultures, practices, and beliefs. But I don't know where to start. I am particularly interested in their diets, health practices, mythologies and religious beliefs.

What is a good but not overly long (under 500 pages) biography of Garibaldi?
Hi I’d like to learn more about labor history in the U.S. - I’ve been listening to Woody Guthrie, whose songs about the Ludlow Massacre and the 1913 Italian Hall Disaster have inspired to me to learn more about this aspect of U.S. history. Things like unions, strikebreaking, coercive tactics and subterfuge on both sides, etc. I’ve heard Zinn’s people’s history recommended but I’ve also heard is pretty biased. Figured someone here might have a more neutral work
Hello! I would like to learn more about medieval monasticism. I’ve already read Julie Kerr’s “Life in the Medieval Cloister”, but I’m looking for something that covers approximately the 7th to the 10th century.

Hi, I'd like some book recommendations on sieges. Let' say The Doctor from Dr. Who told me he's gonna take me to a siege from history so I'd like to be prepared. Since he didn't tell when or where he's taking me or if I'm going to be defending or attacking, I'll take any recommendations you have. Preferably that there's an electronic copy I can buy.
